Special package includes a free end-to-end traffic flow visualization and analysis module combined with a permanent license for the company’s LiveAction software platform.

HONOLULU, HI, January 12, 2010 – ActionPacked! Networks, announced today that for a limited time, it will be giving away permanent licenses for its newest LiveAction Version 1.8 software with in-depth, real time traffic flow visualizations and analytics to qualified IT departments.

“Many IT departments are waiting for the economy to rebound before they acquire any new capabilities to enhance staff efficiency or improve the performance and safety of their networks,” said Nelson Kanemoto, co-founder of ActionPacked! Networks. “As we begin 2010, it’s hard to believe that network engineers must still rely on a 1980’s era command line interface with no visual feedback to manage their routers. With LiveAction they can overhaul their Cisco device management by adding full visual awareness of their networks and by introducing totally new capabilities such as rapid creation and editing of complex QoS policies without command lines.”

According to Kanemoto, ActionPacked! has created its own “stimulus” program to help IT departments jump start their upgrade plans by providing its next generation management platform now at no cost. “This is not a low cost single function tool without expandability,” he said. “We are giving away the same all-in-one platform we provide with our higher end LiveAction suites including the industry’s only end-to-end network flow visualizations.”
“LiveAction’s visualizations and graphical interface make it incredibly easy to know and understand complex traffic information,” said James Fowler, senior network engineer at Symmetricom, leader in precise time and frequency technologies. “It’s virtually impossible to fully investigate all aspects of your traffic flows using standard tools. With LiveAction, we automatically see the entire picture the instant we start it up.”

In addition to tracking and displaying flows from source to destination across a network topology view, the special free edition of LiveAction includes ActionPacked! Networks’ patented device management technology and “point and click” configuration of access control lists, flow filters, ping, traceroute, built-in CLI access, and other troubleshooting capabilities. The software can operate on a standard PC or server from anywhere on the network eliminating the need for appliances or in-line installations.

“This offer makes tremendous sense because it is so proactive,” said technology business researcher and consultant Ken Presti. “The fact that this package can actually help IT managers advance their technical capabilities right now without incurring any costs or waiting for better days is very significant.”
ActionPacked! is currently offering the free single user, special edition of LiveAction through March 31, 2010 to qualified IT departments in the United States and Canada who actively use network devices supported by LiveAction. No purchase is required although users can buy upgrades to full-featured suites if they want to include Cisco QoS monitoring and policy configuration, historical reporting, routing management, and IP SLA testing.

IT departments can apply for the free software through their authorized ActionPacked! reseller or directly from ActionPacked! Networks. Details and terms and conditions of this offer are provided on the ActionPacked! web site.
