Enterprises are experiencing an explosion of consumer and business media. The challenge for network engineers is to both protect business critical traffic and enable the productivity gains realized by collaborative media. Many of the tools for meeting this challenge already exist on the routers and switches and endpoints that exist in your network. Collectively known as Medianet, these tools provide much improved visibility into application health and performance to assess, measure and accelerate troubleshooting of voice, video and data applications.

Senior Product Manager Ken Van Orman discusses new media monitoring features, the application and network management interfaces available for the system and our experiences in the management implementation of these new capabilities. The media monitoring features to be discussed are: performance monitor, IP SLA video operation, mediatrace and Media Services Interface (MSI).
